Sultanas

Sultanas are sweet, golden dried grapes made from seedless varieties, typically Thompson Seedless, and are known for their lighter colour, softer texture, and milder flavour compared to traditional raisins.

While both sultanas and raisins are dried grapes, sultanas are often treated with a natural solution before drying, which helps them retain their golden hue and speeds up the drying process. The result is a plumper, juicier fruit with a more delicate, fruity sweetness.

Turkey is the world’s leading producer of sultanas, particularly from the Manisa region, where the climate and drying techniques produce consistent, high-quality fruit. South Africa and Greece also contribute to global supply.
