Creamed Coconut
Creamed coconut which is different from coconut cream, is made from unsweetened dehydrated fresh coconut meat, that has been ground and pureed in to flakes or small blocks.
Creamed coconut is an excellent alternative ingredient to dairy and palm oil for dairy free chocolate and baked goods. It is also a great replacement for dairy creams and butters, it is particularly used in Indian, Oriental and Caribbean cooking but is equally delicious and nutritious when used to naturally thicken and add a creamy texture to soups, casseroles or sauces. Creamed coconut is also vegan, organic, raw and free from dairy, gluten and preservatives.
