Whole almonds can come in natural (with skin) or blanched (without skin). The presence and absence of skin makes a big difference in flavour, texture and use.

Natural whole almonds are more earthy in flavour, firmer in texture and great in trail mixes, granola and snacking. Blanched whole almonds more delicate in flavour, softer in texture and great for use in baking decorations, dipping in chocolate and making almond sweets like marzipan.
